Welcome from Edward Obermueller

Major Gift Officer

I Believe in UD!

What an exciting time to start working as a Major Gift Officer at UD! I am humbled and excited to be part of the Advancement team at a university with such a unique commitment to diversity, character formation, and the arts.

I received a B.A. in Art and Music from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1996, and an M.Div. from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 2004. Prior to coming here I led a church in the northern New Jersey area, and was an organizational consultant in strategic planning and fundraising.

I am a practicing oil painter and violinist. I am passionate about the power of the arts for connecting people and transforming lives. Imagine what the new Heritage Center will bring to everyone as we grow into our new potential!

When I look into students’ eyes, I see hope and an inspiring belief in their future. I truly believe that as a result of their educational experience at UD, they will succeed and make a real contribution to our world with lives of service.

Albert Camus, the famous French philosopher once said, "Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.” I look forward to working with our alumni and friends who believe in the Mission and Vision of UD in order to give a new generation of students a chance to give their all. When we believe together and give our all, we can make a difference and create a better world.

Looking forward to serving with you,
Edward
