Defining & Building Alumni Nation

Ever get confused by the words alumnus, alumni, alumna or alumnae and what they mean? Don’t worry, many do. As the University of Dubuque Advancement Office plans for 2014, our interest is not in the dictionary meaning of the "alum” words, but rather the feelings associated with being an alum. But, we need your help.

We see that being a UD alum means proudly showing off your white and blue. We hope that the Quad and Bell Tower have a special meaning to you. We understand that the relationships you built at UD remain a key aspect of your life today.

Now, what we need to know from you is this: what is it about being a UD alum that makes you proud, makes you smile?

We want to see you, hear you, know you, and learn from you in ways we never have before. Let us celebrate your accomplishments, connect you with your friends and classmates, and re-engage you with the ever-changing University of Dubuque student body and campus.

The first step in our efforts is the creation of a Director of Alumni Relations and Development position within the Advancement Office. Kari Lammer has been appointed to this position and is developing a plan that focuses on our relationships with you, our alumni. Help us develop an alumni program that you are proud to be a part of, which makes you smile – email or call with any ideas, thoughts, or recommendations for how you, as an alum, want to engage with the University of Dubuque. We need you to build a stronger Spartan Nation!

Please contact Kari Lammer at 563-589-3809 or to discuss the future of the alumni relations program.
