Cedar Rapids Area Alumni Chapter Kickoff a Success

  The University of Dubuque Alumni Association (UDAA) is now five Chapters strong by officially kicking off the Cedar Rapids Area Alumni Chapter on Friday, August 4, 2006. The event was at the Clarion Hotel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There was a group of approximately 20 guests.
Matt Kenney (C'89) and Ben Snyder (C'05) volunteered to be hosts at this event. Matt is currently serving on the University of Dubuque Alumni Board and Ben will join the Alumni Board this October. They did a great job, helping with name tags, snapping photos and making sure everyone had someone felt welcome and had a good time.
Marissa Austin, Director of Alumni Relations, gave a short presentation about the newly formed UDAA, the features and benefits, and how Alumni may become official members. She then went on to discuss the new University of Dubuque Online Community by presenting an online demo.
The next time the UDAA Cedar Rapids Area Alumni Chapter meets will be Saturday, January 27, 2007 when the University of Dubuque Spartans take on the Coe College Kohawks! Do not miss this great event!
