Heritage Society: An Opportunity to Give Thanks

Homecoming is a time of celebration and reminiscing, but it is also a time to give thanks.

Homecoming weekend will kick off with the annual Heritage Society Dinner and Reception on Thursday, October 10th. The President hosts the Heritage Society members as a way to say thank you for their commitment to the University of Dubuque.

Building Critical Mass - Campus Ministry

You can always count on a friendly smile or a listening ear when you see Chaplain Jim Gunn (M'Div 02) on campus. Jim serves as the Edwin B. Lindsay Chaplain in the Office of Student Life at UD. One of the overall goals of Campus Ministry at UD is to develop a critical mass of Christians practicing their faith on campus. Jim continues to work toward that mission since he started in November 2007.

Shannon M. Gaherty (MAC '07) joined the University for Dubuque Advancement team as the Associate Vice President for Development on October 1, 2013. Shannon came to the University from Greater Dubuque Development Corporation where she served as the Newcomer Relations Coordinator for the past five years.

As Homecoming 2013 approaches and the Fall season is upon us, I would like highlight the University's Homecoming traditions. These traditions have contributed to the University's culture and history.

Homecoming started in the Fall of 1921. They played against Des Moines University and lost 7-0.To the right is the 1921 Homecoming program.

Phonathon Fall Kick Off

The University of Dubuque Advancement Department has recently re-launched the Phonathon Program for the fall semester. Each year, students are hired as alumni relations specialists to connect with alumni, update contact information, document any class notes and share University news and updates. The student callers will also be asking each alumnus to participate and contribute in the Annual Fund.
