Alan Garfield Brings Art Opportunities to Alumni
Home to the Arts" is the theme for Homecoming 2013. The theme is woven
through the schedule for the weekend. The art emphasis begins with a
student performance at the Heritage Society dinner on Thursday, October
10th. While Homecoming officially ends at the dedication of the new Heritage Center...
Larissa Shebroe (C'14): Student, Volunteer and Leader
Shebroe's (C'14) resume is full of the traditional experiences and
classes you'd hope to see on any Spartan resume. But her resume is
filled with loads of other things - leadership roles, volunteer
commitments and above all a passion for helping others.
Homecoming 2013: Call for Artists
part of "Come Home to the Arts" Homecoming 2013 Weekend, the Bisignano
Art Gallery will feature an Alumni Art Show. Many works being submitted
are from alumni who have hobbies and passions for photography, drawing,
painting and sculpting. There is still room in the gallery for
additional artists. The show will have a grand opening reception on
Friday, October 11th from 5:30-6:30pm and another reception as part of
the Heritage Center dedication and worship service on Sunday, October
13th at 11:00am. If you have an interest in displaying your art
hobbies or passions with your friends at the University of Dubuque, please let us know! Art is due to the University of Dubuque on September 15th.

Wendt Center Update Tomatoes and the Wendt Character Scholars
Annalee Ward, Director of Wendt Center
in the summer, when my tomatoes begin to grow strong, I put a support
structure around them. The structure allows the plants to grow up and
the fruit to mature on the vine instead of rotting on the ground as food
for worms. Grape tomatoes or Big Boys, Heirlooms or Early Girls, they
all need help.
